The Philippine Nurses Association of North Texas (PNA-NT)

  • A non-profit organization of professional nurses
  • Established in 2005 as a constituent chapter of the PNAA (Philippine Nurses Association of America, Inc.)
  • 35th Chapter of PNAA (currently 37 chapters)
  • One of the 12 subchapters of the PNAA South Central Region (Metro Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, North Texas, South Texas/Rio Grande Valley, Texas Cameron County, South Florida, Central Florida, Tampa Bay, Georgia and Gulf Coast)
  • At present, one of the 6 Chapters in the state of Texas (Metro Houston, San Antonio, El Paso, South TX/RGV, TX-Cameron County)

Mission Statement

As the official chapter of the PNAA, the PNA-NT shall uphold and support the mission of the PNAA by creating positive image and welfare of its members through the promotion of professional excellence and contribution of significant outcomes to healthcare and society.


Goals (Visibility, Viability, Vitality)

  1. Promote activities that will unify the Filipino-American nurses in the USA and its territories
  2. Network with professional organizations and agencies in the development and implementation of educational programs relevant to nursing practice, education and research
  3. Influence legislations and public policies that directly or indirectly affect healthcare and nursing practices
  4. Facilitate professional and cultural adjustment of Filipino-American nurses in the USA through collaboration with organizations and agencies both in the Philippines and the USA
  5. Organize and actively participate in professional and cultural health promotion in the community we serve and globally
  6. Develop and implement research programs focusing on healthcare needs of the Filipino nurses in the USA and the Philippines

Membership Categories

  • Active Member
Eligible to hold office and may serve as chairperson (elected or appointed) of committee(s) any professional nurse of Philippine ethnic origin currently registered in the US.
  • Associate Member
Any professional nurse of Philippine ethnic origin registered in the Philippines or any registered nurse of any ethnic origin as approved by 2/3 votes from the Board of Directors. May serve as member of committee(s) BUT cannot chair or hold elective office.
  • Honorary Member
Any outstanding leader in nursing or allied health field; a Philippine or US official; member of the diplomatic corps or individual who made valuable contribution toward the achievement of the objectives of the association and nursing profession may be conferred honorary membership as approved by 2/3 votes of the Board of Directors.

Membership Fees (PNA-NT)

One year = $35
Two years = $60
Ten years = $250
Lifetime = $350

Note: Paid dues cover both local and national memberships.Therefore membership at the national level with PNAA is automatic.
